It’s no secret that the Doctor and Clara kiss in the Doctor Who Christmas Special. Now see the full-sized image, and find out what it was like for Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman.

In their interview with TV Guide, Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman talk about everything from early jobs to most embarrassing scenes on film. They also cover the kiss that the Doctor and Clara share, and the fact that apparently there were several different versions of the kiss.

As for the kiss itself, we are left to imagine whether its a romantic gesture such as the Doctor shared with Rose, or something of a practical nature like the kisses the Doctor shared with Donna and Martha. Fan sentiment seems to be leaning toward wanting a non-romantic kiss.

In an interview with CNN, Coleman comments on the immediate flirtatious nature of the Doctor and Clara’s relationship.

It’s been interesting how it’s changed Matt’s Doctor. There is a natural bounce between them, and a flirtation, and attraction. But, again, they’ve always got this friction because they’re a bit magnetic and drawn to each other, but she can’t quite figure him out. He’s got loads of secrets and he’s always looking at her, trying to figure her out.

The same interview provides some of the only clues we have as to what to expect this season. CNN managed to wrangle a few bits of information out of Coleman. Coleman goes on to talk about how she’s done lots of running and action sequences on the show. She’s also had her fair share of wire work where she’s been strapped to a harness and hoisted for effects scenes. She describes her favorite TARDIS gadget as a “rolly ball” type of thing that she got to use when her character gets to actually drive the TARDIS. It also looks like there will be another reference to the souffles that Oswin was making. When asked if she had ever made a souffle herself Coleman responded, “I had to be baking one in a scene recently. So I got the Google up and tried to figure out exactly how to do it, take it kind of really seriously to make sure I’ve got, like, the whisking right. But maybe that’s what I should do over Christmas.”

What is your take? Do you think there will be a strong romantic attraction between the Doctor and Clara? Will it be a one-sided attraction? Will it turn out to be much ado about nothing, and be only a Donna and Martha type smooch?
