The day we’ve been waiting for is finally here – Peter Capaldi’s debut as the Doctor on Doctor Who is mere hours away!

We’ve waited almost eight months exactly for Doctor Who to pick back up with Capaldi at the reins, and now we finally get to witness him in action. Despite episodes being leaked online the show has not yet been spoiled for the majority of Whovians, who will be tuning in today on their local BBC channels.

We got the trailer for the episode a couple weeks ago and even though it’s about to air we’re still finding ourselves watching it over and over:

And earlier this month we got a bunch of new stills from the episode, which showcase the Doctor, Clara, and even Vastra and the Paternoster gang.

Doctor Who series 8 will not be split like series 7, which means thankfully there won’t be a gigantic wait between episodes.

The series begins tonight on BBC One at 7:50 GMT, and on BBC America and Space channels at 8:15 p.m. Eastern, 5:15 p.m. Pacific.
