A wealth of Doctor Who spoilers have just been unveiled, revealing the title of Amy & Rory’s final episode, changes coming to the show and various plot points. This post contains spoilers.

The consistently reliable Doctor Who TV have just posted a load of interesting information on the upcoming series 7. Many of them pertain to more technical details (a fan favourite writer returning, etc.) – but many reveal seemingly crucial plot points. While most of the new information fits with what we’ve seen from previous filming reports, some new nuggets have also been gleamed.

“Asylum of the Daleks”

As previously reported, The TARDIS crew will all be kidnapped by Dalek’s disguised as humans. Rory will be kidnapped while getting on to a bus (the conductor’s head opens up to reveal the infamous eye-stalk), while The Doctor will be taken by a little girl near an apparent Dalek statue (her head also “opening up”). Amy meanwhile will be taking part in a photoshoot (now a full-time model), when the photographer’s camera lens transforms into an eye-stalk. Finding themselves in a Dalek holding cell, the trio will be taken to the high council – we saw both of these scenes in yesterday’s trailer. Once there, they are given a mission by the thousands of cyborgs and beamed down to a mysterious icy planet.

Episode 5

Amy and Rory’s farewell encounter with the Weeping Angels has been titled “The Angels Wept”, and will see the TARDIS turned to stone by the aforementioned monsters. [Edit: the title has since been changed to “The Angels Take Manhattan]

Series 7, Part 2

Presumably as a result of it being turned to stone, the show will have a new TARDIS interior and title sequence to lead us into the 50th anniversary. One of Jenna-Louise Coleman’s first adventures will be set entirely within the new TARDIS, centered around the “Eye of Harmony” (a black hole created by the Time Lords during Tom Baker’s tenure – possibly hinting at an Omega return!). Fan favourite Neil Gaiman will return to write an episode about the Cybermen which will see the Doctor’s adversaries receive a “re-imagining”. Another adventure will be set in an old house in the English countryside, said to be a mash-up of “Image of Fendahl” and “Quartermass”. Finally, the Mark Gatiss penned Ice Warrior revival will see Wallander star David Warner as the one of the foes in a “submarine/ice base”. The creatures look is said to be very similar to their original appearance, however (taking a similar approach to the Silurians in “The Hungry Earth”/”Cold Blood”) their classic costumes will merely be body armour.

What do you think of the episode five title? Are you excited to see Neil Gaiman return (we know we are!)?
