The Doctor Who and Maisie Williams love fest continues today in “The Woman Who Lived.”

Doctor Who and Maisie Williams — our only regret is that the showrunners didn’t think of this combo sooner. Maisie Williams is back again tonight, and we get to see what has become of the supposedly immortal Ashildr.

There are so many questions with Ashildr’s character. Obviously the repair patch can fix fairly grave wounds, but just how much can it fix? Can it repair missing limbs? What about if Ashildr was crushed? What happens then? Does the patch eventually wear out? Even the immortal Captain Jack Harkenss met his ultimate demise as the Face of Boe.

Last week, after the Doctor and Ashildr seemed to have some sort of deja vu moment, the Doctor said, “People talk about premonition like it’s something strange. But it’s not. It’s just remembering in the wrong direction.” Does this mean that we’ll have some wibbly wobbly this week where the timelines go back and forth? Will it be a bit like how the Doctor interacted with the young Davros at the beginning of this season?

Another good mystery is what we are calling the Captain Jack Harkness dilemma. One of Jack’s biggest heartaches was the fact that he would fall in love, but those that he loved we mortal. He would be forever youthful, and those he cared about would grow old and die. The Doctor gave Ashildr a second patch so that she could have another person experience immortality with her. Who did she pick and why? For that matter, did she pick anyone? If you give someone the gift or curse of immortality, will they want to stay with you forever?

Of Ashildr’s appearance tonight, showrunner Steven Moffat said, “It fulfills something I’ve longed to see on Doctor Who which is highwaymen…or in this case a highwaywoman.”

Doctor Who airs on BBC America at 9:00 pm tonight.

Do you think tonight will be Ashildr’s last ‘Doctor Who’ appearance?
