Are you having people over for a Doctor Who party tomorrow? Check out how you can make it just a bit more awesome with our last minute additions that take little effort but look absolutely fantastic! You can also enter to win another awesome Doctor Who giveaway.

Doctor Who fans from all over the world will be gathering in millions of places tomorrow; from bedrooms and living rooms to theaters and auditoriums. And many of us Whovians will be inviting friends to come over and experience the epic-ness that is David Tennant and Matt Smith in the same episode, so we figured you might need a little help planning a last-minute Doctor Who party!

Check out a couple of must-haves that you can buy and/or make very quickly for a suitable Doctor Who party at the last minute!

The Silverware

One of the easiest ways to get a party theme together is with your silverware! Fear not, you don’t have to go out and actually buy Doctor Who themed plates and napkins (although that’s always a plus if you have time to look around!). A simple darker blue set of paper plates and napkins go a long way.

What we’d recommend is mixing it up a bit! Get blue plates and cups but mostly white napkins with a bit of blue on them (like these) so you don’t have to drown your guests in so much blue all at once.

The Decorations

As Whovians, we naturally want to go overboard with Doctor Who themed parties. At least, those of us at Hypable do! You’d normally want a TARDIS this, a Dalek that, but with so little time until the 50th anniversary we can’t go all out!

But you can still throw a party with a Whovian big bang! All you need are some streamers and some creative uses of garbage bags and duck tape and you’re all set!

What’s a Doctor Who party without Cassandra? You know, the piece of skin that claimed to be the last human ever? Check out a clip of who we mean in case you somehow forgot the woman who constantly needed moisturizing:

You can actually get Cassandra to your party fairly easily! Take a white garbage bag, any size you wish, and cut it up into a rectangle. Then cut a bunch of semi-circles into the sides and put it over your door, and tape the out most edges to stretch it out. Simply draw some eyes, a mouth and a couple of veins on the sides and you have yourself a Cassandra! It should look something like this:

Warning: Do not moisturize! Unless, of course, you want to fall into Cassandra’s plans to trip you and make you fall in your own home.

Another simple decoration you can do is throw up a few streamers! Streamers are a cheap and effective way of getting the room to look the way you want it to, and a few blue and white streamers thrown over your chandelier or ceiling fan can go a long way! If you have neither, just tape a couple strands by the corners of the ceiling and again in the center for a really cool tent-like looking room, like below:

The Recipes

Admittedly the most delicious and exciting part of any party are the treats! We know you don’t have time to become a culinary chef in the matter of a few hours, so here are a couple of treats that you can make in a snap!

Jelly Babies

A bowl of jelly beans is a super simple and really fun way to celebrate the fourth Doctor’s favorite treat! All you gotta do is buy big bag of jelly beans and fill a bowl and bam, you got Jelly Babies!

Bowtie Brownies

Brownies are fairly simple to make: Just grab a brownie mix, stir the ingredients together and bake! With such an easy recipe, why not make things a little more fun?

If you have the time, just head over to your local grocery store or Walmart and lookout for a bow tie shaped cookie cutter. And if you don’t have one, you can always try and cut the shapes yourself! Lucky for us bow tie shapes aren’t overly complicated. You should end up with something that celebrates the eleventh Doctor, and if you wanna go the extra step just add some red outlines with frosting!

Marshmallow Adipose

These are so simple that there’s almost no reason to not make them! You can make these two different ways: Stick the large marshmallow with a few differently angled toothpicks and tack on the mini marshmallows at the end, or go about the more creative way – use a mixture of confectioner’s sugar and water to create a paste that you’ll use to attach the mini marshmallows to the larger ones. For the face, all you need is a gel frosting tube and no talent whatsoever!
