Doctor Who just released the brand new trailer for its latest season, and it promises some big adventure and big peril for the Doctor.

We’re about to embark on our second season of Doctor Who with the Thirteenth Doctor (Jodie Whittaker). And just like last season, the Doctor is heading out across space and time with her companions Ryan (Tosin Cole), Yasmin (Mandip Gill) and Graham (Bradley Walsh).

And from the looks of this new trailer, we’ve got a lot of amazing adventures in store for us. Check out the trailer for the new season below!

Something is coming for the Doctor, and as she says in the trailer, it’s going to bring “crisis. Big, serious crisis.” But as usual, the Doctor isn’t alone, and she’s got her companions by her side ready to take on whatever lies ahead.

And this season, it looks like we’ve got a lot of new enemies headed our way, but we’ve also got some familiar baddies coming as well. There’s a quick shot of what looks to be a Judoon — and even more deadly, a Cyberman.

As the Doctor says, “People can save planets or wreck them.” So, will the Doctor and her companions be able to stand together against evil and save lives, or will we really find ourselves at the end of the Doctor’s lives as the trailer threatens?

We’ll have to wait to find out when the new season to premiere on BBC and BBC America on New Year’s Day at 8 p.m. After the premiere episode, the show will move to its normal timeslot of Sundays at 8 p.m.

But if you’re looking for a big way to welcome the new season of Doctor Who, BBC America has partnered with Fathom Events for a screening of the premiere episode, an exclusive, early viewing of episode 2, and a live Q&A with Jodie Whittaker, Tosin Cole, and Mandip Gill, transmitted from The Paley Center for Media in New York on January 5.
