‘Doctor Who’

Clara: “Tomorrow’s promised to no one, but I insist upon my past! I am entitled to that!”

Clara’s time in the TARDIS is up no matter how hard the Doctor tries to change that fact. No one is making decisions for her. She will control her life, her memories, her legacy.

‘The Walking Dead’

Carl Grimes: “Look, I get it, my dad killed your dad. But you gotta know something: Your dad was an asshole.”

After dealing with Ron’s petty jealousies and bizarre, zombie apocalypse world-view, Carl has had enough. He tells Ron the truth that, sadly, no one else in Alexandria was willing to tackle. If they had, maybe Ron would have better coping skills and not be porch dick junior.

‘Once Upon a Time’

Dark One Captain Hook: “You’re so afraid of losing the people that you love so you push them away. That’s why you’ll always be an orphan. You don’t need some villain sweeping in to destroy your happiness. You do that quite well all on your own.”

A side effect of Emma saving Killian is that he’s now a Dark One, and he’s not mincing words. Killian might have said things gently, if at all, but Dark One Hook is brutally honest.

On page 2: ‘The Flash,’ ‘Supergirl,’ and ‘Arrow’

‘Arrow’

Thea: “A bunch of superheroes in a farm house? I feel like I’ve seen that in a movie before.”

Thea hilariously makes an Avengers: Age of Ultron reference when the team hides out in a farmhouse to avoid the attention of Vandal Savage.

‘Supergirl’

James: “You know, I never really noticed Clark having to get his rage on.”

Kara: “‘Cause he’s a man. Girls are taught to smile and keep it on the inside.”

James: “Well, it’s not like black men are encouraged to be angry in public.”

Kara invites James to let off some steam with a punching bag, and they comment on the double standards they respectively face when it comes to expressing anger.

‘The Flash’

Thea: “Why don’t you get a haircut, and then maybe we can talk about it.”

Cicso: “I think you’re just mad because my conditioner game is on point.”

When Cisco insists that he can come up with a better nickname for Thea than Speedy, Thea is having none of it. Cisco, though, has an amazing comeback.

On page 3: ‘The Originals,’ ‘American Horror Story,’ and ‘Supernatural’

‘The Originals’

Haley: “Which one of you will take Hope while I take my anger out on this pompous dick?”

Elijah invited Hayley over to help with Tristan’s interrogation for many reasons, first of which is that she has a lot of anger, and next to no one to use as an outlet. That whole werewolf venom thing is really just a bonus when you think about it.

‘American Horror Story’

Iris: “Are we ever ready to see ourselves for what we are?”

John Lowe finally remembered the last five years of his life and it was not a pleasant walk down memory lane. John looks into the mirror every morning and sees a run-down detective, but at night the Ten Commandments Killer comes out to play.

‘Supernatural’

Dean: “So, Sparkle is a unicorn and also a man? So a manicorn.”

Dean has a need to squish together monster names to create a new name, whether it’s ghoulpire or werepire. Now it’s manicorn.
