Cardiff University had the crew of Doctor Who return to its campus yesterday. Earlier in the year they shot exteriors for what is widely assumed to be the Ponds’ final episode. This time out it was the Christmas episode.*SPOILERS*

Not only do we have a report from the various usual set watchers, but Hypable’s own Selina Wilken happened to be in the area, and she was able to get us several key photos.

The crew set up in front of the main building on the University of Cardiff campus. The building has a horseshoe drive in front and the crew erected a set of wrought iron gates with initials in them (photo credit: Ryan Farrell).

There was also a carriage on site with the same stylized initials in the door (photo credit: Selina Wilken).

Fake snow was sprayed and extras were again seen in Victorian dress. None of the main cast was spotted since their filming in the Bristol area last week (seen below) where scaffolding was erected in what will presumably be given a CGI treatment in post production. Last week, Jenna-Louise Coleman was seen trying to jump up and grab a ladder to climb inside the structure. Once inside she was apparently invisible to passersby. Matt Smith also climbed the structure, but from a different angle.

There seems to be some debate as to what the initials on the carriage and gates are. Take a look at the photo and chime in with your opinion. Is it “GR,” “GI” or “GT”?
