The first trailer for Doctor Who series 8 opener “Deep Breath” has finally been unveiled!

Following on from the full series 8 trailer which was released a few weeks ago, the BBC have now debuted the trailer for the feature-length series premiere “Deep Breath.” After airing on BBC One earlier today, the video has now been uploaded online by Doctor Who TV.

The trailer opens with a terrifying shot of a Tyrannosaurus rampaging through the streets of Victorian London. We then see the newly-regenerated Twelfth Doctor springing from a bed as Vastra tells (presumably) Clara, “The Doctor needs us, you more than anyone.” Next we see The Doctor watching as the T-Rex seemingly bursts into flames! As Vastra orders the Paternoster Gang into the carriage, the Doctor wants to know if there “have been any similar murders.” It’s now we get our first look at what appears to be the big bad of the episode: a man with half a face and a blowtorch for a hand. As we see various action shots (including the Doctor riding a horse, Clara seeming to faint in a dark corridor, and Jenny and Vastra preparing for battle), Clara asks the Silurian what the Doctor is doing “there.” The great reptile detective responds with a simple “There is trouble. Where else would he be?” And as the trailer draws to a close, we see the new Doctor’s companion exploring the refurbished Tardis. Cue one of the most famous and re-used lines in Doctor Who history (last heard in “The Day of the Doctor”): “You’ve redecorated. I don’t like it.”
