It wouldn’t be Doctor Who without a Henry VIII joke, and the latest wisecrack in the second “A Town Called Mercy” clip doesn’t disappoint!

Yesterday we were introduced to The Gunslinger as he terrorized the citizens of Mercy. Today, we see the Doctor, Amy and Rory arrive in the town and encounter anachronistic electricity, aggressive stares and keep out signs – the three items on the Time Lord’s Christmas list. Thrown in a quip about an unseen Tudor adventure and you’re on to a winner!

“Doctor Who returns this autumn to the BBC, starring Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill as they head off on five epic adventures.

“A tale of war, betrayal and vengeance, converging on one small town in the Old West – a town under siege. Just crossing the boundary line summons a not-quite-human killer from the desert haze. The Doctor finds himself not just in the crossfire of an ancient conflict (a cyborg killer and an alien fugitive) but faced with a moral dilemma. Which side should he take? Who really is the victim here?”

With the laugh out loud humor in the clip above and the darkness present in yesterday’s video, “A Town Called Mercy” looks set to be a thoroughly entertaining slice of Doctor Who with all the makings of a classic.

Guest starring Adrian Scarborough and Andrew Brooke alongside series regulars Karen Gillan, Arthur Darvill and Matt Smith, “A Town Called Mercy” (written by Chris Chibnall) airs this Saturday in the United Kingdom, United States and Canada.
