The current Doctor (Peter Capaldi) makes a delicious appearance in the first trailer for the BBC’s Doctor Who spinoff Class. Unsurprisingly, he’s also all over the Christmas Special trailer!

The first Class trailer debuted during BBC America’s New York Comic-Con panel on Friday. Class’s Greg Austin (Charlie), Sophie Hopkins (April), Fady Elsayed (Ram), Vivian Oparah (Tanya), creator and executive producer Patrick Ness and executive producer Brian Minchin were on hand to reveal it. Watch below:

From BBC America: “It’s a new term at Coal Hill Academy, and students are preparing for their Autumn Prom. But when the school comes under attack, four alienated students must form an unlikely alliance to defeat them. And this incursion is only the beginning…”

The trailer clearly confirms previous reports that Peter Capaldi’s Doctor will be making an appearance in Class. It’s not too surprising — employing the Doctor helps bring viewers into the new spinoff series.

Class premieres in 2017.
