BBC has released a new clip from the upcoming Doctor Who Christmas Special, and we get another look at the Doctor’s dark side.

Christmas day is almost upon us, and for a lot of people in the fandom world that means a day full of TV specials and excitement. While we’re still in the dark about a lot of the specials airing that day, Whovians have yet another preview of Doctor Who‘s episode. Take a look at the Doctor’s new attitude towards alien activity on Earth:

The Doctor’s darkness is nicely paired with Strax’s humor, and we’re excited to see how he, Madame Vastra, Jenny, Strax and Clara will work together to ultimately rid Earth of this alien snow. Take a look at the description of the Christmas Special below.

Following the epic mid-season finale, the Doctor gets in the holiday spirit in the all-new Christmas special written by lead writer and executive producer Steven Moffat (Sherlock). Accompanied by his newest companion, played by Jenna-Louise Coleman, the Doctor’s latest adventure through space and time sees him once again crossing paths with the homo-reptilian Silurian Madame Vastra (Neve McIntosh) and her cohort Jenny (Catrin Stewart). The Doctor Who Christmas Special premieres December 25, 9:00pm ET.

What do you think of the new clip? Any theories on how the Doctor will get out of this funk?
