The Doctor Who Christmas Special is finally featuring Santa, or Father Christmas, and Santa’s got talent.

In the stills that were just released, Santa, who appeared in the Doctor Who Christmas Special teaser, is heavily featured. In fact, he actually seems to be juggling, sort of. Then again, maybe it was just a random idea for the photography.

We also have a look at Santa’s elves, one of whom is played by Dan Starkey, who usually plays Strax under a ton of makeup and prosthetics.

There are also several human guest stars. According to The Radio Times, these humans include, “Natalie Gumede, Faye Marsey, Maureen Beattie and Michael Troughton, son of second Doctor Patrick Troughton. All of whom are said to be playing scientists who are under siege from monsters at the North Pole.”

Interestingly, the Doctor and Clara are back after it was heavily hinted in the finale of season 8 that the Doctor and Clara would not be traveling together any more. It is rumored that Jenna Coleman, who plays Clara, had a change of heart.

Originally, Clara was supposed to leave the Doctor and the Tardis permanently. Now, sources are telling the U.K. tabloid The Mirror that Coleman is eager to continue with the series. This change supposedly necessitated some rewrites on the part of showrunner Steven Moffatt.

If Coleman does continue with the series long-term, she will become the longest running companion in the reboot era right behind Karen Gillan, who played Amy Pond.
