Just one more week to go, Doctor Who fans! To start the official countdown, the BBC has released a brand new teaser trailer for “Asylum of the Daleks” focusing on the Dalek’s most feared predator…

Appearing on the Doctor Who website early this morning, the trailer fully confirms speculation that The Doctor will be sent on a mission by the Dalek Parliament to “cleanse” an Asylum – presumably of the unstable cyborgs that are disturbed enough to concern a murderous and heartless race. What’s most interesting to us though, is the concept of The Doctor being a predator. We can’t see it being a label the raggedy man will be too happy with, and “Asylum” will almost certainly further explore the concepts of “A Good Man Goes To War,” where the word Doctor comes to mean great warrior.

Without further ado, check out the 41-second teaser below! British readers can catch the trailer on BBC One at regular intervals between now and next Saturday.

“Kidnapped by his oldest foe, the Doctor is forced on an impossible mission – to a place even the Daleks are too terrified to enter… the Asylum. A planetary prison confining the most terrifying and insane of their kind, the Doctor and the Ponds must find an escape route. But with Amy and Rory’s relationship in meltdown, and an army of mad Daleks closing in, it is up to the Doctor to save their lives, as well as the Ponds’ marriage.”

Doctor Who returns next Saturday in the U.K., America and Canada. Australia will see “Asylum of the Daleks” the week after on Sept 8. No other international broadcast dates have been announced at this time.
