The BBC has finally announced their schedule for the airing of The Day of the Doctor: The 50th Anniversary Special of Doctor Who.

Fans who already hold tickets for the 3-D Day of the Doctor showings in cinemas should report at their scheduled times as they will have some additional content such as behind-the-scenes commentary that will hopefully, eventually, appear on DVD and Blu-ray.

The BBC released the official synopsis just the other day. “The Doctors embark on their greatest adventure in this 50th Anniversary Special: in 2013, something terrible is awakening in London’s National Gallery; in 1562, a murderous plot is afoot in Elizabethan England; and somewhere in space an ancient battle reaches its devastating conclusion. All of reality is at stake as the Doctor’s own dangerous past comes back to haunt him,” it reads.

For the majority who will be watching at home on television, here is how the day breaks down.

There are no details from the official Australian Doctor Who Twitter as of yet, but we believe that they will shortly confirm that they will be airing the show at 3:50 AM on Sunday the 24th of November in order to follow suit.

Following the live broadcast, the Hypable Doctor Who team, WhoHype, will be holding a live Google Hangout to discuss the show. We will be taking fan questions, and have some guests in addition to our regular hosts.

A full trailer is expected to be shown on Saturday on BBC1, and then will appear online after. Until then, the BBC has just released a new teaser clip with footage of the Doctor and Clara that has never before been seen – not even by the fans in Hall H at Comic-Con.

EDITED: And if all of this isn’t enough, the BBC just announced there will be two trailers this weekend:

You can see the first sequence of clips from the episode in a trailer that airs tomorrow, just before Atlantis at approximately 8pm, on BBC One. We’ll have it right here for you here immediately afterwards because we hope you’ll want to watch it again (and again!) without delay!

And to really make this a special weekend we’re also releasing a second trailer on Sunday. Versions of this trailer have been seen at industry events but this is the first time it’s been released in its finished form, complete with the kind of special effects that help make The Day of the Doctor so epic.
