With the 50th anniversary of Doctor Who now over, BBC is already giving us sneak peek look into this year’s Christmas Special!

BBC One announced on Twitter this morning that the title of the 2013 Doctor Who Christmas Special is going to be “The Time of the Doctor.” It seems that there’s a pattern here, as the prequel to the 50th was titled “The Night of the Doctor” and the 50th anniversary was entitled “The Day of the Doctor.”

In addition to the title of the episode, slated for a debut on December 25, 2013, they’ve given us our first poster!

The juxtaposition of the cheery Christmas lights along with a severed Cyberman head and the presence of The Silence gives us a nice preview of just how creepy this episode will make our Christmas celebrations this year.

While Clara is wearing a crown from the traditional Christmas cracker, a likely scenario for this Christmas special is that she and the Doctor go off to celebrate Christmas in a grand way, only to end with Matt Smith’s regeneration for Peter Capaldi’s entrance into the series.

We wonder which of these monsters will be the one responsible for the Doctor’s regeneration. Will it be the Cybermen, come to turn the Doctor into one of their own? Perhaps it’ll be The Silence, attempting to silence the Doctor once and for all.

Or will Matt Smith face the same fate as Amy and Rory and get attacked by a Weeping Angel? Oh, and let’s not forget that the Daleks are back as well, so they’ll be looking to exterminate the Doctor this Christmas, too! The possibilities are endless!

If you haven’t taken a look already, make sure to watch the 10-second preview of “The Time of the Doctor” released just after Doctor Who‘s 50th anniversary this weekend.
