It seems that the Internet is abuzz with a bunch of Doctor Who 2013 Christmas Special spoilers! Check out some of the largest plot details of Matt Smith’s departure from the show, if you dare.

The Sun recently reported a bunch of spoilers about this year’s Doctor Who Christmas Special, and they’re pretty juicy! Here are just a couple of plot details about the special and Matt Smith’s leave from the show:

The Eleventh Doctor will lose a leg.
During filming Matt Smith actually injured his leg, and so his swan song was rewritten to incorporate the injury, and apparently somehow the angels will make the Doctor lose a leg. Oh no!

He’ll also grow old.
There must be some weird science happening in Christmas Town, on the planet of Trenzalore, which the Doctor is set to save this Christmas. He’ll be growing old this Christmas, and with the addition of his lost leg things aren’t looking so good.

The plot will last 300 years?
The Sun claims that this war against the Weeping Angels, Cybermen, Daleks and Sontarans will last around 300 years. Perhaps this is why the Doctor is growing old? It looks like time might go by a lot quicker in Christmas Town.

Clara will not be part of the action.
The Doctor will confine Clara to the TARDIS to prevent her from growing old as well, and she’ll not be part of the fighting until she’s needed by the Doctor. We can’t imagine this going well with Clara, and are sure she’ll somehow find a way to help or try to get out while confined.

A source told The Sun, “The Christmas special is a really spectacular episode. It’s a tough act to follow on from the 50th anniversary but we think this has cracked it. There is a very Christmassy feeling that will thrill excited kids, but enough drama, suspense and emotion to keep adults hooked too.”

It’s important to keep in mind that these spoilers should be taken with a grain of salt. While the Sun has had its share of reliable information, it’s also a source of pure bollocks a lot of the time, and that could very well be what these spoilers are made out of.

We’d particularly like to call out the mention of Sontarans and not The Silence. Either The Sun has their villains confused or they’ve made all of this up. We’ll find out soon on December 25!
