True Detective star Rachel McAdams has officially joined Marvel’s Doctor Strange film adaptation starring opposite Benedict Cumberbatch.

While speaking with TheWrap at the Toronto International Film Festival, actress Rachel McAdams confirmed that she’s signed on to star in Doctor Strange opposite Benedict Cumberbatch. She didn’t reveal which character she would be playing, but she joins a massively star-studded movie, with some insanely talented actors, and we imagine Doctor Strange will continue in Marvel’s vein of excellent superhero films.

It had been rumored for months that McAdams would be joining the film in some capacity, but it looks like she’ll have a major role in one of Marvel’s most anticipated films. She’ll be joining the likes of Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor, as well as the incredibly popular Benedict Cumberbatch.

Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen was recently reportedly in talks to be cast as one of the villains in Doctor Strange. He’s yet to confirm his role, but the majority of this cast must be getting finalized as the film is set to start production in November.

Tilda Swinton recently commented on the film’s story, saying, “It’s all about creativity. It’s not about everything exploding at the end. It’s about something very different.” We look forward to finding out more about her and McAdams’ roles.

Scott Derrickson is set to direct Marvel’s Doctor Strange, with Jon Spaihts penning the script. The film’s release date has been set for November 4, 2016.

Doctor Strange’s official synopsis: “Before he met the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange was an unlikable and egotistical neurosurgeon. Everything changes when a car accident limits Strange’s use of his hands, sending him on a maddening quest for a miracle cure. This origin story introduces the magical and mystical realms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
