Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen is reportedly in talks to be cast as one of the villains in Doctor Strange.

Variety first reported that Benedict Cumberbatch may be facing off against Mikkelsen, and while no offer has been officially given to the actor, he’s expected to be offered the role soon.

Mads Mikkelsen will also be joining Tilda Swinton and Chiwetel Ejiofor, which makes Doctor Strange possibly one of the best cast Marvel films to date.

It’s unclear which villain Mikkelsen will play, but we know that Tilda Swinton will be playing The Ancient One, while Chiwetel Ejiofor’s character has been announced to be Baron Mordo.

This could very well end up being an extremely star-studded movie, with some insanely talented actors, and we imagine Doctor Strange will continue in Marvel’s vein of excellent superhero films.

We’re particularly excited about the direction previously Swinton mentioned (“It’s all about creativity. It’s not about everything exploding at the end. It’s about something very different,” she said in July), and look forward to finding out more about her role.

Scott Derrickson will be directing Doctor Strange, with Jon Spaihts penning the script. The film’s release date has been set for November 4, 2016.

Doctor Strange’s official synopsis: “Before he met the Sorcerer Supreme, Doctor Stephen Vincent Strange was an unlikable and egotistical neurosurgeon. Everything changes when a car accident limits Strange’s use of his hands, sending him on a maddening quest for a miracle cure. This origin story introduces the magical and mystical realms of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”
