Doctor Who is tapping one of the U.K.’s youngest rising stars this season.

Maisie Williams, who plays Arya Stark on the HBO smash hit Game of Thrones, is slated to join the Doctor on an upcoming adventure.

The BBC is thrilled to have Williams join the series. Williams stated, “I’m so excited to be working on Doctor Who as it’s such a big and important part of British Culture. I can’t wait to meet the cast and crew and start filming, especially as we’ll be shooting not too far from my home town.”

Showrunner, Steven Moffat added, “We’re thrilled to have Maisie Williams joining us on Doctor Who. It’s not possible to say too much about who or what she’s playing, but she is going to challenge the Doctor in very unexpected ways. This time he might just be out of his depth, and we know Maisie is going to give him exactly the right sort of hell.”

There is no word on specifically what Williams’ episode might be about, whether it’s a historical, alien planet, or earthbound tale. No doubt, avid set watchers will try to catch a glimpse of Williams in action since they will be filming part of her episode outside of the Roath Loch Studios.

Williams is not the first Game of Thrones cast member to express interest in the iconic series. Richard Madden, who played Williams’ onscreen brother Robb Stark, is also a superfan of the series. Coincidentally, his long-term girlfriend is none other than Clara herself, Jenna Coleman. Though, probably wisely, he’s not looking to get a role just at the moment. He stated to Zap2It, “I’d love to be in ‘Doctor Who’ one day, but maybe not while Jenna’s in the show.”

It seems like every actor in the U.K. would love to be on the program. Only last week at the Outlander U.K. premiere, Sam Heughan who plays Jamie Fraser revealed himself as a long-time fan of the show. He expressed interested at making an appearance. It would actually be quite fitting, as author Diana Gabaldon was partly inspired to write Outlander after viewing a classic episode of Doctor Who.

Doctor Who will be back on screens likely in early September 2015.
