Tim Bergling, better known by his DJ stage name, Avicii, has just signed a record deal with both Interscope and Atom Empire.  Atom Empire is an electric dance label headed up by Troy Carter, Lady Gaga’s manager.  Le7els, The 22 year-old’s first single since signing with both labels, has already hit No.1 on the international Beatport chart.  According to the Swedish DJ’s rep, Le7els has sold well over 100,000 downloads on iTunes since its debut weekend.

With a radio edit of Le7els now available, as well as this new record deal, those who currently don’t know the DJ’s name, soon will.  At the moment, Avicii has a respectable sized fan base with about half a million fans on Facebook, and around 166,000 followers on Twitter.  The plan with the new deal is to broaden his fan base, which currently is primarily college-aged students, enough so that he becomes the most popular DJ in North America.  Troy Carter released the following statement following reports of the new partnership with Avicii;

“We’re very excited to be working with Avicii, Ash, and the LE7ELS family. Avicii has quickly become one of the world’s preeminent DJ’s and we’re looking forward to assisting in his global takeover.”

Congratulations are certainly in order for Avicii.  With all of his recent shows being entirely sold out, it would seem that this new record deal is just the first step in what is to be a very prolific and successful career.
