The first television commercial for Divergent has been released. Clocking in at a minute in length, it’s almost a new trailer.

The latest Divergent preview features several new pieces of footage including a great birds-eye view of the iconic ferris wheel. It plays up the Tris-versus-Jeanine angle to a great degree.

The basic premise of this commercial: Four educates Tris on what makes her dangerous, Jeanine orders all Divergents killed, and Tris is proud of who she is. A promo released last week depicts a similar theme.

What else do we see? Tris on a zip line, capture the flag, and the Aptitude Test where Tris takes on a dog. Plus, do we hear Ellie Goulding’s vocals? She will be present throughout the film because her voice will be used all over the score.

If you can’t wait to see the movie on March 21, you may have a shot at seeing it early. Yesterday Summit announced several red carpet screenings being held in about two weeks which will include appearances made by the film’s stars and author. A list of cities and participating talent can be seen in our story published yesterday.

The above television spot debuted on Yahoo!, who is hosting a giveaway where one lucky fan will win a pair of tickets to the film’s Los Angeles premiere.

What do you think of the ‘Divergent’ marketing thus far?

Divergent stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, and Kate Winslet in the lead roles of Tris, Four, and Jeanine.
