Looking to add some big star power to Divergent to ensure its commercial success, Variety reports today that Kate Winslet is in talks to nab a role in the series.

The only problem? The role in which she is in consideration for is currently unknown, says the source. Guess away in the comments! Could it be Jeanine Matthews? She is the leader of the Erudite faction and began the second war with Eric.

The only certain casting addition right now is Shailene Woodley, who’ll take on the lead role of Tris. In recent weeks the studio has been searching for someone to play Four. Woodley has been screen testing with various actors to find just the right person, and at Sundance earlier this week she said she’s looking for someone who’s a real man. “No feminine actors, please,” she said.

Divergent will have a 60-day shoot in Chicago, Illinois beginning in April. The film will open in theaters March 21, 2014.

Veronica Roth’s story follows Tris, who lives in a future Chicago that is separated in five factions in order to stabilize society. At age 16, each citizen must choose a permanent faction. However, for Tris, things don’t go as planned, and she has to survive an aggressive and physically demanding initiation. Beatrice Prior must uncover her true hidden strengths and risk her family, her newfound love, and her very own life to defuse a mysterious conspiracy which could change the balance of power forever.

It is the first book in a trilogy. Book 2, Insurgent, was released last year. Book 3 is yet to be titled but is due out sometime this year.
