While we’ve known that the Divergent producers are actively seeking an actor to take on the lead role of Four in the highly-anticipated book to film adaptation, actress Shailene Woodley is now issuing an ultimatum describing the type of person they’re searching for.

Woodley is no stranger to the Four casting process. Since November, reports have stated that the actress has been screen testing with several different actors in order to find the right chemistry match.

So what is Woodley looking for in a Four actor? “The thing about Four is that he has to be a man. No feminine actors, please,” she said to MTV. “You cannot walk in that room in pretty little boots and pretend you’re a man. I’m sorry. You need to walk in there, and you need to not have muscles that look good and not actually work. There have been a few guys that have this power about them. It’s a natural masculine power that some people have and some people don’t. There’s nothing good or bad or wrong or right about it. This character needs to be extremely masculine, and his eyes need to scream vulnerability and sensitivity. It’s really hard to find in a dude, especially a dude who can act.”

Very specific, and very thought out! Can you tell she’s been at this for a while?

She revealed that there are two actors in particular she’s fond of, but neither were named. It could be two of three gentlemen who we learned a few weeks ago had recently auditioned (Lucas Till, Jeremy Irvine and Alex Pettyfer).

Yesterday Luke Kleintank said he’s auditioned for the role of Caleb, Tris’ brother.

No matter who’s selected to play Four, Divergent will open in theaters March 21, 2014.

Woodley made the comments while promoting her new film The Spectacular Now at Sundance in Park City, Utah.
