Robert Schwentke, who directed both Insurgent and Allegiant, will no longer helm the franchise finale Ascendant.

Here’s your chance, aspiring directors, because Lionsgate is now in a rush to find a replacement for Robert Schwentke.

Deadline has learned that the two-time Divergent series director has dropped out of the fourth and final instalment, titled Ascendant.

“Nothing sinister here”, Deadline assues fans. “Schwentke just needed a break, after making Insurgent and Allegiant, back to back. He has a good relationship with Lionsgate, where he helmed Red.”

Ascendant concludes the story of Tris (Shailene Woodley), Four (Theo James) and Caleb (Ansel Elgort), as they fight to take down the factions that have shaped their world up until now.

Based on the book series by Veronica Roth, Ascendant ostensibly covers the last half of the third and final novel, Allegiant. But seeing as how different the first part of the finale is shaping up to be, we’re sure Ascendant will be full of surprises for book fans.

The first movie in the series was directed by Neil Burger, who is currently working on All the Old Knives and The Jury. No word yet about Schwentke’s replacement, but Lionsgate has to act quickly — Ascendant is slated for June 9, 2017.

Allegiant hits cinemas March 18 of this year. Check out a trailer for the third Divergent movie below:
