Another day, another Disney-developing-a-live-action-movie headline. Today’s story concerns the iconic and adorable Winnie The Pooh.

Deadline reports that Disney is plotting a live-action Winnie The Pooh, with Alex Ross Perry (Listen Up Philip, The Color Wheel) writing the script. The film will tell the story of “Christopher Robin as an adult, which brings him back to A.A. Milne’s famous bear and the Hundred Acre Wood.”

That brief description gives us a Toy Story 3 vibe. Will Christopher Robin feel nostalgic for his childhood friend? Is he returning to the Hundred Acre Wood just to check on his friend?

We can only imagine how grumpy Eeyore is going to be in his later years.

Our main question at the moment is how this is going to look. We’re guessing there will be a good amount of CGI to create Pooh and his friends. Using physical costumes would look strange. We’re also wondering if this film will include music.

The most recent Winnie The Pooh film (animated, mind you) opened July 2011 under the direction of Stephen J. Anderson and Big Hero 6 producer Don Hall. There’ve been five full-length Pooh movies since 1977, including 2000’s The Tigger Movie and 2003’s Piglet’s Big Movie.

The franchise is based on A.A. Milne’s set of classic characters who first debuted in the 1926 novel Winnie-the-Pooh.

Disney has live-action fever and it can’t be stopped. In the past month we’ve learned the studio is working on live-action versions of Mulan and Dumbo. Meanwhile, the live-action Beauty and the Beast has been scheduled for March 2017, two years to the day after the live-action Cinderella. Live-action versions of The Jungle Book and Pete’s Dragon will hit theaters April 2016 and August 2016 respectively.
