Disney parks fans won’t want to miss Behind the Attraction, an all new Disney+ docuseries which offers up a behind the scenes look of just what it takes to bring their favorite theme park rides, and more to life.

Update (7/13/21): On Tuesday (July 13), Disney+ gave fans a taste of what they can expect from Behind the Attraction, thanks to an all new trailer that teases just a handful of the rides, shows, and more that they can expect to see profiled as part of the all new docuseries.

Over the course of 10 episodes, the series promises to delve into the “Disney Parks’ rich, amazing history using archival and never-before-seen footage and photographs to unveil how the attractions came to be and how they’ve been refined over the years as new ideas surface and technology evolves.”

Original Story (6/7/21): Disney+ original docuseries have offered up glimpses of everything from the animals who call the parks home, to what it’s like to work at Pixar Animation Studios. Now, the streamer’s newest docuseries invites fans to to look at the history of how some of their favorite Disney theme park attractions came to be.

On Monday (June 7), Disney+ announced Behind the Attraction— an upcoming 10 part original series that aims to tell fans the often unknown true stories behind some of their favorite attractions at Disney theme parks around the world.

The docuseries won’t just be focusing on rides either. As the official synopsis teases, the show also promises to touch on the unique stories behind each castle at the parks, the transportation systems that move people from place to place within the parks, as well as how the iconic Disneyland Hotel came to be.

“Revealed for the first time are the wild stories of how the Haunted Mansion was filled with 999 happy haunts, how the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror™ transformed into Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! (while defying gravity in the process) and why Space Mountain took so long to launch,” reads the synopsis for the series.

Behind the camera, Behind the Attraction is executive produced by Jungle Cruise star Dwayne Johnson and Dany Garcia through their Seven Bucks Productions banner. The Toys That Made Us helmer, Brian Volk-Weiss serves as director, and Criminal Minds star Paget Brewster serves as narrator.

All 10 episodes of the series are set to debut via Disney+ on July 16 to celebrate the upcoming release of Disney’s live-action Jungle Cruise, which hits theaters and Disney+ with Premier Access on July 30.
