The newest trailer for Disney and Pixar’s Soul gives viewers an exciting new glimpse into the great before— check it out below!

Keep the tissues close, Disney-Pixar fans— the studios’ next joint movie is just around the corner, and it’s bound to leave you itching to do a bit of soul-searching yourselves.

When Soul debuts on Christmas Day, moviegoers will be introduce to Joe Gardner (voiced by Jamie Foxx)— a middle school band teacher who’s seriously jazzed about music. Unfortunately, Joe suffers an accident the morning he’s set to get his big break playing for a jazz quartet.

Suddenly, the musician finds himself separated from his body, but as the trailer teases, things don’t quite go as planned for Joe’s soul, who suddenly finds himself taking an unexpected detour to The Great Before.

The newest trailer for the highly anticipated release comes hot on the heels of Disney announcing that Soul would be forgoing a traditional theatrical release in favor of heading straight to streaming on Disney+.

The animated feature film was originally set to hit theaters in June, before the studios made the decision to move the release back to November 20. In the end, given the continued shutdown of movie theaters as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, Disney announced last week that the film would instead be debuting via its own streaming platform on Christmas Day.

Unlike the studio’s live-action Mulan (Disney’s most recent straight to streaming title), there’ll be no additional fee tacked on for those who wish to enjoy the newest Disney-Pixar title with family and friends. The ability to stream the animated feature will be included with your regular Disney+ subscription.

Soul debuts via Disney+ on December 25.
