Disney is pulling out all the stops for its streaming service, Disney+, which launches in three months, with several details about what will come with a subscription being announced.

Speaking at their annual D23 Expo, and originally reported via CNET, Disney will be coming out of the gate strong to compete with other streaming services already available on the market. As though a prolific back-catalogue of Disney content and the promise of new original series wasn’t enough.

As standard, a $7-a-month subscription will include all of the following features:

Those features put it in the same category as Netflix’s premium $16-a-month plan, which also offers four simultaneous streams and 4K/HDR streaming. At less than half the cost of Netflix’s most expensive subscription, Disney+ will be immediately competitive, as choosing between streaming services becomes an increasingly likely scenario.

Another way in which Disney+ is setting itself apart in the streaming landscape is by bucking the trend of Netflix’s binge-watching model — i.e., releasing all episodes of a series at once. Instead, the streaming service will offer weekly episodes for its original series debuting on the platform, keeping it in-line with traditional network television. So, when shows like The Mandalorian, She-Hulk, Ms. Marvel, Hawkeye, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier arrive, the content will be spread out across several weeks, allowing Disney more time to market and create event-viewing around the episodes.

Disney+ is set to launch on November 12, 2019.
