Will Smith is circling a lead role in Disney’s live-action Dumbo directed by Tim Burton.

Talks appear to be early, according to Deadline, but Disney is “moving aggressively toward a production start.”

The project has been in development for a while. Tim Burton was hired to direct nearly two years ago.

Smith will join a growing line-up of live-action adaptations by Disney starring major names. This March will welcome Emma Watson and Dan Stevens to the Disney world with Beauty and the Beast. They join actors like Angelina Jolie (Maleficent) and Johnny Depp (Alice in Wonderland).

Other live-action adaptations in the pipeline include a movie about Cruella de Vil (starring Emma Stone), Aladdin, Mulan, Snow White, and The Lion King. Basically, all of your Disney animated favorites.

Details surrounding the Dumbo movie are still under wraps, though we know the script is being written by Ehren Kruger (who wrote Transformers: Age of Extinction and the two Transformers movies that preceded it).

If Smith isn’t voicing an animal, perhaps he’s playing The Ringmaster.
