Disney’s live-action Aladdin movie has found its Jafar.

The staff-wielding villain will be played by Marwan Kenzari. The actor appeared in this year’s Tom Cruise-led Mummy as Malik. He’ll also co-star in Murder on the Orient Express later this year.

Nasim Pedrad of Saturday Night Live was also cast today, but the details surrounding her role are still a mystery. Interestingly, the Hollywood Reporter says she’ll be playing a new character. Since she’s a big actress, we assume this new role will play a significant part in the storyline (Love interest for Jafar, maybe? They were seemingly cast at the same time…)

Though Disney is going with a few lesser-known stars to fill its cast (Aladdin will be played by Mena Massoud and Jasmine will be played by Naomi Scott), there’s one very recognizable name: Genie will be played by none other than Will Smith.

The film does not have a release date yet, but filming is expected to begin in early 2018.
