Disney Infinity is rumored to combine Disney and Pixar’s roster of characters in an open-world with content creation elements similar to Minecraft.

Polygon reports they have received leaked videos and images from the project that is due to be officially revealed Jan. 15.

According to the report, the videos feature everything from on-foot exploration, to tank battles and expanded creation seen in Toy Story 3: The Video Game‘s Toy Box Mode.

Along this track, the developer of Toy Story 3, Avalanche Software, is rumored to be the studio working on Disney Infinity.

The report continues that while there will be pre-constructed settings and activities, the player will not be forced to do anything.

Comparisons to the different modes seen by the outlet range from Just Cause 2 to Angry Birds.

Polygon also reports that the game will be coming to iOS and Android devices as well, but it is not known in what form as the gameplay detailed may be a challenge for current-gen consoles, let alone mobile devices.

If the report turns out to be true, it would appear that Disney is putting more emphasis on reestablishing itself in the video game market with creative products instead of cash grabs and movie tie-ins.
