Disney+’s upcoming High School Musical series has rounded out its cast of Wildcats!

High School musical is making a comeback in a big way thanks to Disney’s upcoming online streaming platform, Disney+.

The iconic DCOM trilogy is serving as inspiration for a brand new series, titled High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, and now we finally know who will be starring on the show!

In a press release sent out on Friday (February 15), Disney unveiled the principle cast for the new series, which, as the title alludes to, centers on a group of high schoolers who embark on a journey to stage a production of HSM.

Joining the cast are Olivia Rodrigo (Bizaardvark), Kate Reinders (Modern Family), Sofia Wylie (Andi Mack), Matt Cornett (Bella and the Bulldogs), Dara Renee (Freaky Friday), Julia Lester (Mom), Frankie Rodriguez (Modern Family), Larry Saperstein (Fan Girl), and Mark St. Cyr (Doomsday).

The new crop of actors join previously announced cast member Joshua Bassett, who was cast as Ricky just last year.

Check out the descriptions for all of their characters below!

Nini (Rodrigo)
Nini has just returned from summer theater camp after finding her voice, her confidence, and her new boyfriend. Fiercely loyal to her two moms, Nini is a star— if she can just believe in herself long enough to stay put in the spotlight.

Miss Jenn (Reinders)
The school’s new high energy, low reality drama teacher, who believes musicals can save lives. She may suffer from serious imposter syndrome, but she would do anything for her students, even if it means fudging a few credits on her CV.

Gina (Wylie)
A recent transfer student and a diehard theater kid with as many skeletons in the closet as she has credits on her resume. She is both ambitious and entitled, and dead set on showing Miss Jen that she made a huge mistake in casting her as the understudy.

E.J. (Cornett)
Nini’s new love interest, and the supremely confident son of two corporate lawyers, who secretly battles the pressure of living up to his picture-perfect Instagram account. Co-captain of the water polo team, senior class treasurer, and trust fund baby…it’s not a good idea to cross E.J. if you get something he wants— like the lead in the musical.

Kourtney (Renee)
Nini’s ride or die best friend who’s obsessed with makeup tutorials and feminism in equal measure. Kourtney works on the costume crew of High School Musical, pulling together runway-ready fashion on a high school budget.

Ashlyn (Lester)
E.J.’s cousin and an “old soul” who worships Sara Bareilles. She’s an aspiring songwriter on the sly.

Carlos (Rodriguez)
Captain of the color guard and the student choreographer of the show. Carlos thinks of Miss Jenn as a peer. He eats lunch in her office, has been drinking espresso since the third grade, and already has is Tony Awards speech memorized.

Mr. Mazzara (St. Cyr)
East High’s somewhat robotic STEM teacher. His belief in preparing students for the future often leads him to butt heads with Miss Jean, who would rather sing about life than live in the real world.

Set nearly 15 years after the original movie aired, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series follows a group of East High students as they count down the days until opening night of their production of High School Musical.

The group of kids will be put through the ringer as show-mances blossom, friendships are tested, and rivalries spring up, over the course of the 10 episode first season.

Production on the series is currently under way, though there’s still no word on when we can expect it to premiere on Disney+.
