The upcoming Hawkeye series coming down the pipeline at Disney+ has just lined up a handful of directors to spearhead forthcoming episodes!

According to The Wrap, Marvel Studios and Disney+ have tapped directing duo Bert and Bertie (Amazon’s Troop Zero) and Rhys Thomas (Saturday Night Live) to direct upcoming episodes of its Hawkeye series.

The aforementioned helmers will be directing off of scripts written by Jonathan Igla, whose previous credits include AMC’s Mad Men.

The upcoming series is one of a handful of Marvel entities coming down the pipeline at Disney+. Other Marvel limited series also coming down the pipeline via the streamer include The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, WandaVision, and Loki.

The Hawkeye series is set to find Jeremy Renner returning to reprise his role as Clint Barton— the Avengers’ resident bow-wielding sharp shooter. When the show eventually premieres, we’ll see Clint take on a young charge named Kate Bishop under his wing before ultimately passing the Hawkeye baton off to her.

Comic fans will undoubtedly already be familiar with Kate Bishop, given that she eventually does end up picking up the Hawkeye mantle in the comics as well, before going on to become a member of a group of teenage superheroes known as the Young Avengers.

The last we heard in September 2019, Disney and Marvel were eyeing actress Hailee Steinfeld for the role of Kate Bishop, though that hasn’t quite been confirmed yet.

As for the streamer’s upcoming Hawkeye series, the show is expected to debut via Disney+ sometime in Fall 2021.
