A clip from Disney’s Frozen shows off the charming writing and snowman Olaf’s sense of humor.

In the first scene released from the upcoming Disney animated movie, Olaf (voiced by Josh Gad) encounters Anna (Kristen Bell) and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff) and reveals that Elsa created him. We see Anna ask if Olaf knows Elsa’s (Idina Menzel) whereabouts because they need to save summer after she put a winter curse on the land. Adorably, Olaf says he’d love to experience summer but doesn’t realize that the sunshine and heat would melt him.

Frozen opens in theaters November 27. Earlier this week Disney released the lead single from the animated movie titled “Let it Go,” performed by Demi Lovato. Just last week we were treated to a new trailer that has more of a focus on the film’s storyline rather than the humor.

Says the film’s official synopsis, “Fearless optimist Anna sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.”

Frozen follows in the steps of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ 2012 film Wreck-it Ralph, which was critically praised. Coming off that film, we have high hopes for Frozen.

How do you think Disney’s ‘Frozen’ is shaping up?

There won’t be a Pixar movie released next year, so Frozen and Big Hero 6 will be our Disney animated movies to hold us over until 2015’s The Good Dinosaur.

Big Hero 6 is “an action comedy adventure about brilliant robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada, who finds himself in the grips of a criminal plot that threatens to destroy the fast-paced, high-tech city of San Fransokyo,” according to Disney.
