Disney fans looking forward to the live-action Mulan will have to wait longer than expected for the film’s release.
According to Variety, Walt Disney Studios has yet again decided to delay the release of the live-action Mulan due to the current coronavirus pandemic.
Originally, the highly anticipated film was set to hit theaters earlier this year on March 27, but after COVID 19 hit, the studio opted to push the release date back to July 24. From there, the studio pushed the intended release date back even further to August 21.
Unfortunately, with no end in sight for the pandemic, the studio has opted instead to postpone the release for the live-action movie indefinitely.
In a statement announcing the news, a spokesperson for Disney told variety that the studio plans to reassess the best way to bring Mulan to the masses given the current pandemic.

“Over the last few months, its become clear that nothing can be set in stone when it comes to how we release films during this global health crisis, and today that means pausing our release plans for Mulan as we asses how we can most effectively bring this film to audiences around the world,” said the spokesperson.
The news of Disney’s decision to pull its August release date for the live-action adaptation comes hot on the heels of Warner Bros., announcing that it had also pulled its highly anticipated release of Christopher Nolan’s Tenet.
Though Disney has yet to give word with regards to when we might see their latest live-action adaptation debut, WB, in turn, promised movie lovers that they’re hoping to lock in a new 2020 release date for Tenet soon.
