A second Downton Abbey actress has formally joined Disney’s live-action Cinderella.

Sophie McShera will play evil stepsister Noemi. We say “formally” because we learned she was in negotiations for the role earlier this month.

Initial reports suggested McShera would play Drisella, but now it looks like she will play a similar character with a different name. McShera is best known for her role as Daisy Mason on Downton Abbey. Daisy is a kitchen maid who proves her worthiness after several missteps.

Earlier this week Disney announced that Cinderella would officially hit theaters March 13, 2015. It is expected to begin filming later this year in England, so you can expect several casting announcements to roll in over the next couple of months.

Cinderella will be directed by Kenneth Branagh and has a pretty star-studded cast of television actors already signed on. Lily James, who will play the titular character, is another actress best known for her role on Downton Abbey. Richard Madden has the role of Prince Charming and recently left Game of Thrones following a climactic end to season 3.

Helena Bonham Carter will play the fairy godmother who, when we first see her, is disguised as an old beggar spying on Cinderella. Cat Blanchett will play Lady Tremaine.

McShera and James can be seen in their recurring Downton Abbey roles when series 4 premieres January 5 on PBS, and a couple of months earlier in the United Kingdom. An exact date for series 4 on ITV has not yet been announced.
