It looks like we’ll be seeing you again, Wiz Khalifa, in Apple TV+’s Dickinson series.

The incoming Apple TV+ line up just keeps getting better and better, and this intriguing new casting announcement definitely isn’t stopping that trajectory. EW is reporting that Wiz Khalifa will be joining the cast of Dickinson as the personification of Death!

The series will star Hailee Steinfeld as a young Emily Dickinson. It’s no ordinary period piece, though. Dickinson will feature modern dialogue and a hip-hop and rap infused score will be a huge part of the fabric of the series.

Alena Smith, the show’s creator, told EW that “I wanted Death to be the coolest guy in the world because Emily is in love with Death. Part of the story of the season is about her coming to a more realistic and mature understanding of Death, but where she begins is a kind of Goth worship of death. I just really wanted it to be someone that you would genuinely get excited to see.”

This is Wiz Khalifa’s first TV role, so we can’t wait to see how he brings this intriguing character to life on Dickinson. The show’s star, Hailee Steinfeld, also commented on his casting, saying, “it is very different and weird and interesting and exciting, and he is a major element in this show that makes it all of those things.”

Dickinson will premiere on Apple TV+ on November 1, 2019.
