Blizzard’s Diablo III releases at midnight tonight for PC and Mac, but the developer is saying the long-rumored console version is still not out of the question.

In an interview with GamasutraDiablo III‘s game director Jay Wilson revealed the developer has not announced the game for consoles on purpose because “we’re not sure yet whether we think it will work, and whether we think we have the resources to do it.”

At this point, Blizzard is just hiring for the project, Wilson disclosed, and that “the better people we hire, the better chance we have to actually make it.”

Blizzard has released a few of their titles to consoles over the years, including the original Diablo, and hopefully they’ll revisit the notion for fans that want to have the premium dungeon crawling experience without a gaming PC.

Would you play Diablo on consoles or is it strictly a PC only experience for you?
