Some interesting artists and song choices have been announced from the soundtrack to the highly anticipated upcoming Muppets film.  Who can we expect to hear?

First on the list is Bret McKenzie of Flight of the Concords fame.  McKenzie has four original songs on the soundtrack, all of which sound equally as exciting as the next!  The first is entitled “Life’s a Happy Song,” and is sung by Jason Segal, Amy Adams, and a newly created muppet named Walter.  It will also be sung as a full cast finale at the end of the film.  Chris Cooper sings the next song, which is called “Let’s Talk About Me”.  Following that is a duet between Segal and Walter called “Man or Muppet”, and finally, “Me Party” which is another duet, this time between Amy Adams and the incomparable Miss Piggy.  Also featured on some of the tracks are Feist, Mickey Rooney, Joanna Newsom, and Nathan Pacheco.

There will also be a couple of fantastic cover’s on the soundtrack.  First, there will be a rendition of Cee Low Green’s “Forget You,” which is sure to garner some attention as it was one of the most popular songs of last year.  They will also cover the classic Nirvana tune, “Smells Like Teen Spirit.”

The more we hear about this movie, the more we can not wait to see it! Now with these new developments of the soundtrack, we also can’t wait to hear all of these songs!

What do you think?  Does the soundtrack sound like it has some potential?
