The Disney Channel Original Movie The Descendants has announced who will play the iconic villains in the new story about their children.

The Descendants has cast Maz Jobrani (above left) as the Aladdin villain Jafar, who’s the father of Jay played by Booboo Stewart. Kathy Najimy (above center) will play the Evil Queen from Snow White, who is mom to Evie played by Sofia Carson. Finally, Cruella de Vil from 101 Dalmations will be played by Wendy Raquel Robinson (above right). The character is mother of Carlos played by Cameron Boyce.

In addition, Melanie Paxson will play a Fairy Godmother.

Earlier this month we learned that Kristin Chenoweth will play Maleficent, mother of her daughter named Mal. Now that we have the full cast in front of us, it’s safe to say that Chenoweth is the biggest actor/actress associated with this film.

The Descendants is directed by Kenny Ortega, who helmed High School Musical for the Disney Channel. It will be released next year.

As previously detailed by the film’s synopsis, The Descendants follows the Disney villains’ children as they contemplate accepting a chance at redemption. “In a present day idyllic kingdom, the benevolent teenaged son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from Disney’s iconic Beauty and the Beast) is poised to take the throne,” Disney writes. “His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to the trouble-making offspring of Cruella De Vil, Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar who have been imprisoned on a forbidden island with all the other villains, sidekicks, evil step-mothers and step-sisters. These villainous descendants (Carlos, Mal, Evvie and Jay, respectively) are allowed into the kingdom to attend prep school alongside the offspring of iconic Disney heroes including Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan. However, the evil teens face a dilemma. Should they follow in their nefarious parents’ footsteps and help all the villains regain power or embrace their innate goodness and save the kingdom?”
