Dept H will soon be getting the adaptation treatment over at Netflix and the film has just found its director!

It looks like Netflix is gearing up to bolster its comic book adaptation content.

According to Deadline, Paradise Hills helmer Alice Waddington has officially signed on to direct the upcoming adaptation of Dept. H over at Netflix.

The forthcoming film is based on the hit Dark Horse comic book series of the same name, created and illustrated by Matt Kindt and colored by Sharlene Kindt. The first issue, which debuted in April of 2016, centers on Mia– the daughter of a renowned scientist, who finds herself having to travel six miles below the surface after her father is mysteriously killed in a deep-sea research station.

Set to join Waddington behind the scenes on the project is T.S. Nowlin, who previously adapted The Maze Runner for the big screen. Nowlin will serve as the screenwriter for the forthcoming Netflix Original, adapting the comics for the small screen.

Producers on the project include Mike Richardson, Keith Goldberg, and Paul Schwake, all of whom will produce Bia Dark Horse Entertainment.

The upcoming Dept H film is the latest of Dark Horse Comics’ properties to get the adaptation treatment over at Netflix. Previous Dark Horse comics that have been adapted for the screen via the streamer include The Umbrella Academy (currently going on its third season), andPolar starring Mads Mikkelsen and Vanessa Hudgens.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Dept. H debut via Netflix.
