Demi Lovato is going back to her Disney roots with her new single “Let it Go” from the upcoming Disney 3D animated film Frozen. The newest single marks the first time the former Disney star has worked closely with Disney since her second studio album Here We Go Again.

In “Let it Go,” Demi Lovato sings of breaking free from oppression and expectations to become the person you were meant to be. Given her recent musical trends, these themes are rather young for the starlet

However, she makes a triumphant return to the Mickey Mouse club with “Let it Go,” a song to be featured on the Frozen soundtrack.

Frozen released a trailer this past week that unveiled more of the story of the animated adventure. The official synopsis for Frozen reads:

Fearless optimist Anna sets off on an epic journey—teaming up with rugged mountain man Kristoff and his loyal reindeer Sven—to find her sister Elsa, whose icy powers have trapped the kingdom of Arendelle in eternal winter. Encountering Everest-like conditions, mystical trolls and a hilarious snowman named Olaf, Anna and Kristoff battle the elements in a race to save the kingdom.

Frozen will hit theaters November 27, and stars Kristen Bell, Jonathan Groff, and Idina Menzel.

As for Demi Lovato, the pop star/X Factor judge is about to start her Neon Lights tour, which will feature The X Factor group Fifth Harmony as her opening act.
