Demi Lovato is officially returning to the small screen to star in a brand new NBC pilot.

According to Variety, singer and actress Demi Lovato has officially signed on to star in a brand new comedy pilot coming down the pipeline at NBC.

Titled Hungry, the series hails from Suzanne Martin who will serve as both writer and executive producer, and was already given a put pilot commitment by the network back in January.

Hungry centers on a group of friends, all of whom belong to a food issues group. Together, they help see each other through as they look for love, success, and more.

Currently, there are no other details abound that shed more light on who Lovato will play in the series.

In addition to starring on Hungry, the pop star will also serve as an executive producer on the project. Others involved behind the scenes include Sean Hayes, Todd Milliner, Scooter Braun, Scott Manson, and James Shin, all of whom will also serve as executive producers on the pilot.

Today’s casting news comes hot on the heels of Demi Lovato releasing her newest album, Dancing with the Devil…the Art of Starting Over.

Released on April 2, the powerhouse vocalist’s seventh studio album was recorded alongside a documentary series titled Demi Lovato: Dancing with the Devil, which details her road to recovery from addiction.

Currently, there’s no word on when we might expect to see Hungry premiere via NBC.
