Just in time for fireside barbecues and late night pool swims, X Factor judge Demi Lovato revealed that the second single off of her fourth album is “Made in the USA.” Unfortunately, the news of her latest single comes right on the heels of the passing of her estranged father.

Fans speculated that “Made in the USA” would be her second single off of Demi, and were proved true when Lovato sent out a press release via MTV.

The summery single full of sugary pop and patriotism speaks of a steamy summer romance.

Lovato directed the music video for “Made in the USA,” something that was a “dream come true” for the former Disney Channel starlet.

The lyric video of the song will come out on Wednesday, while the video for Lovato’s directorial debut will release sometime in July.

After the sudden passing of her biological father this past weekend, support from her loyal fanbase for her recent career endeavors would surely help Demi. US Weekly reported that her estranged father’s passing after losing his battle with cancer kept her away from X Factor auditions this recent weekend.

Lovatics will distinctly remember Demi’s song about her father on her third album, Unbroken, titled “For The Love of a Daughter.” In the unsettling song, Lovato shouts out lyrics like “put the bottle down, for the love of a daughter” and “don’t you remember I’m your baby girl, how could you push me out of your world?”

Our thoughts and best wishes are with Demi and her family during this difficult time.

Will ‘Made in the USA’ be a hit?

While “Heart Attack” was catchy, we hope that Demi’s “Made in the USA” will help her become known to mainstream audiences as more than just a judge from X Factor.
