With titles like Smash Ultimate and Just Cause, the December 2018 video game releases start off very strong at the beginning of December before a big lull.
Massive titles like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Just Cause 4, and the new Persona rythm games all hit right around the same time. A port of the first Katamari game hits the Switch, along with the Sega Genisis Classics bundle.
The PlayStation Classic console releases this month, with most reviews stating that it’s a bare bones presentation of a so-so collection of PlayStation 1 games. The Spyro and Crash Bandicoot trilogies are being bundled together, and Hello Neighbor is receiving new content.
While January does have Kingdom Hearts 3 and Resident Evil 2 remake releasing, let’s hope that more titles are spread throughout the month as the often dreaded Dumpuary (a pet name for the lackluster video game releases in February) looms.
