Rogue One director Gareth Edwards is reportedly in early talks to write and direct the feature, with Joe Manganiello set to play the titular role.

Manganiello was previously set to play Deathstroke in the upcoming Batman solo movie, but THR notes that it is “unclear” if he will still appear since the movie has swapped directors from Ben Affleck to Matt Reeves.

Deathstroke, a.k.a. Slade Wilson, was also a prominent recurring character on the CW superhero series Arrow, played by Manu Bennett.
