Universal’s Dear Evan Hansen movie has found its latest cast member in Mayans M.C. vet, Danny Pino.

According to Deadline, actor Danny Pino has officially joined the cast of the upcoming big screen adaptation of the hit Tony Award winning musical, Dear Evan Hansen.

Pino is set to play Larry Murphy in the upcoming movie musical— the stepfather of Conor Murphy, who dies by suicide early on in the story.

Pino’s casting announcement comes hot on the heels of word that actress Amandla Stenberg has also been cast in the movie musical.

Stenberg, who joined the cast last week is set to play Alana— a high school senior big time into social media. Though she seems cheerful on the outside, as the story progresses, it becomes clear that she uses her happy facade to mask feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the plan is for the film to expand the role of Alana for the movie musical, which will also find Stenberg singing a brand new original song composed exclusively for the film. Stenberg, in turn, will work with original musical music and lyrics writers Benj Paske and Justin Paul to pen the new tune.

Pino and Stenberg join previously announced cast members Kaitlyn Dever and Amy Adams, both of whom have previously joined the cast of the film. They’ll be playing Zoe and Cynthia Murphy, respectively.

Also set to star in the upcoming movie musical is Ben Platt, who will reprise his Tony Award Winning performance as the titular Evan Hansen.

Behind the camera, Steven Levenson (who also wrote the book for the stage musical) has written the script for the movie. Meanwhile, Stephen Chbosky (The Perks of Being A Wallflower) will serve as director.

Currently there’s no word on when we might expect the Dear Evan Hansen movie to hit theaters.
