The latest Deadpool image, starring Ryan Reynolds, continues the excellent promotion for this R-rated comic book movie, with Deadpool catching a cab with his mutant sidekick.

If anyone is still concerned about Deadpool being R-rated, the film’s producer Simon Kinberg says, “Deadpool is a hard R. It’s graphic. Nothing is taboo. You either commit to a truly outrageous boundary-pushing kind of movie or you don’t.”

Update: Another new Deadpool image has been released by Empire, showing Deadpool getting a cab with Negasonic Teenage Warhead, a unique mutant played by Brianna Hildebrand.

The character’s original name was Ellie Phimister, who was a teenage student in Emma Frost’s telepathy class in Genosha. During a tutoring session, Ellie informed Emma Frost of some nightmares she had dozens of times the previous night when everyone in Genosha died. After she reported this to Emma Frost, Cassandra Nova’s Sentinels appeared and wiped out all of Genosha.

Emma Frost, who survived the attack due to her secondary mutation (changing into her diamond form), carried Ellie’s dead body and said that she will be a credit to her family and the mutant race. Emma then ordered members of the rescue team to bring Ellie back to life, but they stated that she had been dead for too long.

We assume she’ll be an alternate version of this character in Deadpool, and she’s been seen fighting alongside Deadpool in some behind-the-scenes shots in the middle of the street as Deadpool cuts through some villains. She has telepathic powers, and some other interesting abilities, so it’ll be exciting to see how the two work together (who would want to be able to read Deadpool’s mind?).

Original article: Director Tim Miller also commented on the film’s rating, saying, “I felt Fight Club and Tyler Durden were good corollaries. We are in strip clubs and dive bars and crappy apartments and far away from the shiny X-Men world.”

We have a feeling Deadpool is going to be a smashing box office success, despite its hard R-rating. The comic character is entirely different than anything the average moviegoer has seen in a superhero/villain film, and they’re going to be blown away with just how unique the character is on the big screen.

Production is underway on Deadpool, hence the new image, and Ryan Reynolds will most likely continue keeping fans up-to-date with the ongoings that the on-set hilarity brings. We’re excited to see more images from the film, and although we’ve seen the highly-praised leaked test footage, this image continues one of the most eventful film promotions we’ll see in a very long time.

Morena Baccarin will play the female lead in the film, but we’ve yet to see her on set in any official images. Fans may know her most recently from her role in Showtime’s hit series Homeland.

We’ll see Reynolds in ‘Deadpool’ when it hits theaters February 12, 2016.
