Deadpool 3 has officially found its scribes in Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux.

According to Variety, Emmy Award winning writers Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux have officially signed on to write the script for the highly anticipated third installment of the Deadpool franchise.

The dynamic sister duo will be no strangers to fans of Fox’s incredibly popular animated series, Bob’s Burgers. The Molyneuxs, who serve as co-executive producers and writers on the hit series helped score the show an Emmy win in the Outstanding Animated Program category back in 2017.

Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux take over writing duties from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick who penned the first two installments of the R-rated anti-hero franchise.

In front of the camera, actor Ryan Reynolds is already signed on to reprise his role as the titular Merc with a Mouth in the first film in the Deadpool franchise that’ll be under the umbrella of Marvel Studios following Disney’s acquisition of Fox.

One thing that currently remains unclear is who will be tasked with directing the third movie. The first installment of the hit franchise found Tim Miller serving as director. After Miller passed on the sequel, directing duties were passed on to David Leitch who helmed the second installment which came out in 2018.

Regardless, the fact that Deadpool 3 has officially locked in its script writers is a huge first step in getting production going on the highly anticipated threequel and should be cause for excitement for fans who just can’t wait to see the foul-mouthed character back on the big screen.

Currently, there’s no word on when we can expect Deadpool 3 to hit theaters.
